Loneliness

The ache ever present

calling out in the dark.

Longing for connection.

Reaching, stretching,

tugging at my heart.

Pulling me

beyond myself.

Yet no matter

how close I long to be,

there is space between

all I desire.

An invisible force,

constant,

relentless.

Ignore it,

sickness, chaos, depression.

Noises of life blare loud,

but I must stop and

listen for the silence.

The ringing in my ears

shows me the way

to sit with the ache,

however painful.

Until finally,

it propels me forward

wrapping me

in infinite arms

of love.
