Looking Up

Blinding light of the sun,

more brilliant than we can imagine.

An orb of darkness

appearing in the light

overtaking the brilliance

only for a few moments.

It is then that we

can look up

with our naked eye

to see that which

is usually invisible.

A chill descends

and twilight consumes.

The time for seeing and knowing.

Darkness must overtake

in order to truly glimpse

the strength of the light.

To trust, to grasp,

to look up

and see the unseen,

embracing the chill

guided by the moon

and the night.

Letting go of the

lighted path

to grope in the dark.

Feeling the

slow future

unwinding

into territories

unknown and

unimagined.
