authentic storytelling through song
A journey of healing
My debut album, Rising Free, is both ethereal and raw, combining the power of opera-like storytelling with accessible vocals and stripped-down arrangements. Each track serves as a mantra for healing and empowerment, inviting listeners to find their own voices and embody the affirmations within. Praised by EARMILK as “raw, heartfelt, hopeful,” the album has been noted for its “uncanny ability to craft deeply introspective lyrics that offer catharsis, compassion, and emotional power.”
I have been teaching and leading peope of all ages in song since early high school. I’m quite certain teaching is in my bones, passed down from my ancestors. I have always believed the old saying: “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” In the same way, my work is about empowering people to discover their own beautifully unique voices rather than simply singing for them. My music weaves together spirituality, mental health, music education, and sound healing—offering songs and affirmations as living mantras that move beyond intellectual understanding into embodied truth. By singing these affirmations together, we remember that our voices which originate deep within our darkness inside, can carry us into the light, and that each of us holds the power not just to survive, but to thrive.
Channeling the Light
Since my grandmother first urged me to sing a church solo in fourth grade, I have been learning what it means to sing not just with my voice, but with my whole soul. Over the years—through opera, musical theatre, church music, teaching, and the struggles of life itself—I’ve gathered the tools and truths that shape my artistry and help me be a vessel for the light.
My debut album, Rising Free, is more than a classical crossover project; it’s a living testament to resilience, vulnerability, and the courage to bare my heart through song. Every performance I give is an offering: reaching toward something deeper—emotional honesty, human connection, and the possibility of transformation.
For me, music is not performance alone—it is conversation, communion, and a reminder that our voices carry the power to heal, uplift, and change lives.
the voice can heal the soul
building community through song
In my own healing journey, I discovered that simply singing, humming, or even making sound could interrupt my spiraling vortex of anxiety and despair. It brought me back into my body, grounded me in breath, and reminded me that I was present, safe, and alive. Over my twenty-five years of teaching, I have witnessed how quickly singing a song can uplift someone. I also realized how many people have been told they “can’t sing” or are “doing it wrong.” I thought—how powerful would it be if people knew they could simply hum when they were hurting? Yet I also recognized how many barriers and stories we carry that silence us.
From this awareness, my practice of Vocal Empowerment was born. It weaves together everything I know about teaching singing with an honest reckoning of the stories we’ve been told about our voices—that they are inadequate, unworthy, maybe too much, or not meant to be heard. Vocal Empowerment is the practice of using the voice as a pathway to healing, connection, and authentic expression. It is not about singing perfectly—it is about uncovering the truth and power already alive within you.

Embracing the Shadow
As an artist, teacher, and person, I believe there is great value in acknowleging and exploring the painful aspects of life and that rich gifts of wisdom and growth are available for us there.
Every song speaks to me and for me! I felt like I have not been understood, and now am understood and seen. I feel more real, like the Velveteen Bunny, after listening and singing along.

I am so blessed to have it. You are part of my evening prayer I can’t thank you enough. You’re glorifying those gifts.

And here again your album is making it’s magic. Your music, your voice, and meeting you in general had a profound impact on how I recently expressed myself at work. I feel like I have a lot to learn from you.

Everyone seems to be searching for something to ground their soul. Ironically you reply by creating “Rising Free”. We ground ourselves by rising free and focusing on what is freedom and true love.
